Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 September 2026
This policy explains what Hangman4Kids.com collects, why, and what choices you have. It is written to be readable by the parents and teachers who use the site.
The short version
- No account is needed and none can be created. We do not ask for names, email addresses or any other personal detail in order to play.
- Game progress — difficulty, streak, which word comes next — is stored in your own browser and never sent to us.
- The site is free and supported by advertising, which involves third-party cookies.
- The site is intended for parents, teachers and children playing with adult supervision. It is not directed at children under 13 for the purposes of data collection, and advertising is served in non-personalised, child-directed mode.
Information stored on your device
The game uses your browser's local storage to remember your chosen difficulty, your session score, and your position in each theme's word list, so a returning visitor does not start over. This data stays on your device, is readable only by this site, and can be erased at any time by clearing your browser's site data. It contains no names, no identifiers and nothing that could identify a person.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs when a page is requested: IP address, browser type, referring page, and time of request. These are used for security and to understand overall traffic levels, and are not combined with anything else to identify individual visitors.
Advertising and cookies
Advertising on this site is served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this or other websites. Because our audience includes children, ad units on this site are marked as child-directed, which instructs Google to serve non-personalised advertising: ads are chosen based on the content of the page and general context rather than on a profile of the visitor. Non-personalised ads may still use cookies for frequency capping, aggregated ad reporting and fraud prevention.
You can opt out of personalised advertising across the web through Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info. Google's own handling of data is described in its privacy and terms for partner sites. Most browsers also allow you to block or delete cookies entirely; the game will continue to work normally if you do.
Children's privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. There are no profiles, no messaging, no uploads and no way for a child to enter personal details into the game. If you believe a child has sent us personal information — for example through the contact form — write to us and it will be deleted promptly.
If you contact us
When you email us or use the contact form, we receive the address you write from and whatever you choose to include in the message. This is used only to reply and to act on the request. Correspondence is not added to any mailing list and is not shared with third parties.
External links
Pages may link to other websites. Once you follow such a link, this policy no longer applies; we do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we hold almost nothing, most such requests concern email correspondence. Write to hello@hangman4kids.com with "Privacy request" in the subject line.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Material changes will be noted on the page for a period after they take effect.
